Check out this new ride.  Its a 49 foot Donnie Cason and couple of our friends just got finished building.  What a pretty boat and cant wait to fish her.

Looks like the weather is laying out for us this weekend.  The fish have showed up in good numbers in 85 to 95 feet of water.  Plenty of king mackeral action to be had.  The offshore bite still seems to be hit or miss.  Reports of Spanish mackeral have surfaced along the beaches.  If you haven’t gone on a spanish trip you are missing out.  Its a very relaxing and a easy trip along the beach’s and inlets.  The table fare is even better.  I cant wait to go my self and feel up the cooler.

The fishing this weekend was good for those who made it out. Good reports of Tuna, Hoos and some scattered billfish. The Wrightsville Marina Spring Challenge had a 107lb Hoo weighed on Friday. Closer in the kings are beginning to bite and the bonito have shown up in good numbers, perfect for a half-day trip.  Call or email today to reserve your trip, dates are booking quickly.

reelin up the coast

What a day we had on the ocean yesterday.  I fished with some good friends of mine of the stream weaver out of CB.  We started off catching the big snowy grouper first thing that morning.  We caught our limit then went after the tuna fish which we found.  It was one of those days that will stay with you for a while. We caught 18 tuna 1 dolphin and 8 grouper.  

We also had a TV host English Glover on the boat shotting a fishing show that will be aired this summer.  English and his camero crew are first class and we cant wait to see the action played back on the big screen.  English is out of Murrles Inlet Sc and his tv show is called reeelin up the coast.  I will keep you posted before it is aired.

The near shore bite is also turing on some with the bonita and n=kingfish action picking up.

A few boats either got lucky or the yellow fin are going to show up for us this year. Near shore the king mackeral and grouper are starting to bite again. We are booking spring and summer charters. Please call or email me.

the weather could not be any better thats for sure.  The fishing could be though.. The gulf stream seems be hit or miss right now for the tuna , wahoo and maui.  The high presure we have over NC should bring in the warm gulf stream currents.  The fishing should turn on any day now.  On anthor note if you are a turkey hunting I killed a nice one saturday morning..

Plenty of keeper sea bass not far off the shore and the inshore seems to be good.

My fishing reports got lost in the web world so if you followed my reports over the last several years I am justing getting it back on line.  A few boats fished out of our inlets yesterday and did well on the black fin and wahoo.  The gulf stream water is still pushed off the break but is getting closer.  The yellowfin have been thick off hatters and down below us in charleston so hopefully this year they will show up for us.  I am getting ready to roll for the end of the month.  We are booking charters starting May 1st so please call or email if you want to go.  Have a happy and safe easter weekend.
