Left the dock this morning at 6 to find the weather was a bit more than forecasted. The forecast for next week is looking fantastic so call or email now to book your fishing trip, dates are filling fast!!

The dolphins are here in full force and the kings have shown up in good numbers in the 10-15 mile range. With the recent storm passing through the weather looks like it is back to normal after the last two weeks of wind. We still have several great dates available including the Sunday of Memorial day weekend, so call or email to reserve your fishing adventure today.

Spent the last several days spanish fishing with some great results, the wind looks like it is finally starting to lay down after this storm passes through. That will open the door for some great offshore action.

Spanish May 12-14

Friday, May 14th, 2010

The wind and weather has been uncooperative the last several days but we have been able to really get after the spanish. Looks like the wind is going to calm down after this weekend, so that should open the door for some consistent King fishing and let the Mahi get closer in.

Good Temps May 7th

Just taken this afternoon. Great clean break offshore for some full day blue water action and hopefully the warmer water near the coast will hold and bring the Spring Kings and Mahi near shore.

May 6th Black drum

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Went for a half-day trip with some great guys out of Wrightsville beach. It was truly one of those days that you will always remember. Started out with a heavy fog on the ride out which cleared to a pod of pilot whales completely breaching the water about 150 yrds from the boat, truly amazing thing to see. Began the day with some bottom fishing, which produced several nice black sea bass for this time of the year, kept 2 for dinner and released the rest to fight another day. Also a 25 lbish cobia swam around the boat while bottom fishing, very unusual to see them this early and as close in as we were. On the ride in we spotted what we though was a grass pad about a quarter mile away, so we decided to investigate, ended up being a school of 300+ LARGE drum!!! Talked to several other boats who had apparently came across a school of the same size over the last several days, but no one could get them to bite anything. Well we found the trick and had 3 hook ups on light tackle ending with a NC citation 61.2LB Black drum. It was caught on 20LB tackle and 7LBs of drag, talk about a fight!!
The fishing has dramatically improved over the last several days and dates are booking fast so call or email today to reserve your trip!!!

May 2nd

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

The wind has kept many boats at the dock for the last couple of days, those who did make it out have come back with good reports. The dolphin have finally shown up in good numbers and opening day for grouper was a big success for everyone. The blackfin are still around with scattered reports, and hopefully this wind all week will blow in some warmer water and the king bite will turn on for good. The Wahoo bite is still as good as always and dates are booking fast so call or email to reserve your trip!
